Firesafe Installations & RDrive – Digitising Fire Protection on One of the UK’s Most Ambitious Stadium Projects
Firesafe Installations (Firesafe) is one of the UK’s leading specialists in passive fire protection – providing structural fireproofing, intumescent coatings, and fire-stopping systems on major projects nationwide. With experience spanning landmark developments such as the Royal Liverpool Hospital, Manchester’s Co-op Live Arena, The Heron Tower, and Manchester’s Printworks, Firesafe has continually evolved its methods and tools to deliver projects with precision, compliance, and technical excellence.
A Trusted Name in Passive Fire Protection
Their work on the new Everton Football Club Hill Dickinson Stadium exemplifies this commitment. The fire protection package, worth over £6 million and spanning 24 months, involved more than 40 different products and thousands of bespoke installations – all delivered within a live, complex waterfront environment beside the River Mersey.
Managing Complexity at Scale
Large-scale fire protection projects require total coordination – not just on-site, but also in how progress and compliance are tracked. Firesafe’s teams were required to link every activity to the main contractor’s BIM model, a process that quickly became unmanageable with thousands of data rows and heavy forms that crashed frequently during input.
“Before RDrive, we were searching through thousands of rows of data, and forms would often crash halfway through,” the team explained. “The amount of information required by the main contractor made reporting extremely time-consuming.”
Bringing Clarity and Control with RDrive
To overcome these challenges, Firesafe adopted RDrive as its central platform for quality assurance, reporting, and progress tracking. By logging each installation directly on site – complete with photos, notes, and precise locations – the team could build a live, auditable record of work as it happened.

“QA logging and report making is much easier with RDrive - it also helps with our valuation processes" .
The impact was immediate. Reporting that once took days could now be completed in minutes. By replacing fragmented forms and spreadsheets with one connected digital system, Firesafe’s teams gained real-time visibility, reduced administrative effort, and improved collaboration across every level of the project.
Recognised Excellence
Firesafe’s work on Everton’s new stadium has been shortlisted for the ASFP Awards 2025 in the Large-Scale Installation Project of the Year (Over £1 Million) category – recognising the scale, precision, and dedication involved. The project stands as a showcase of how digital precision and hands-on expertise can work together to raise industry standards.

“There was some initial hesitation at the start of the project, but once the processes were streamlined and more user-friendly, everyone quickly saw the benefits”.
Building the Future with Digital Assurance
Having seen the impact first-hand, Firesafe has made RDrive its preferred platform across future projects. “RDrive will be our software of choice going forward,” the company confirmed.
For Firesafe, this partnership represents a smarter, more transparent way of working – one that blends deep technical expertise with digital assurance. For RDrive, it’s proof of how technology can strengthen collaboration, improve compliance, and build confidence across the fire safety industry.
